SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE launches May 27 for PS4, Switch and PC
Konami Digital has announced that SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE will be launching on May 27 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam as a free-to-play, digital download exclusive. The game will also be compatible on PlayStation 5. The release timing for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S version of SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE will be confirmed at a later date. Bomberman: Disney Stitch Edition (
ディズニー スティッチ ボンバーマン) was released on August 2, 2010 as a free mobile game for NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode mobile internet service in Japan.
As the Bomberman fan site linked above states:
The alien Stitch (from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch) takes the role of Bomberman in a timed score attack challenge. You must destroy as many crab enemies and soft blocks within the time limit; Bomb Ups and Fire Ups can be found inside soft blocks, redesigned to fit the Hawaiian aesthetic.
Scores can be submitted to an online leaderboard, allowing you to challenge high scores from across the country.
The game was published for free on i-Mode platforms under the DoCo DeMo Game (ドコデモゲーム) banner; its name is a pun on DoCoMo, a Japanese mobile phone service.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how to be able to play this old and odd crossover spin-off mobile game here in America without resorting to finding and ordering a compatible phone on eBay and trying to get a Japanese-exclusive phone service to be able to access this game. I also am unable to find any videos featuring gameplay, so these few screenshots are all there is to see.
If anyone out there does have gameplay and video footage of this game, or knows of a way to get access to this game and the i-mode service on a computer or smartphone, then please do share! (And quickly, too! The i-mode service will be shut down in March 2026! 😰)
Super Bomberman R Online is coming to new platforms including Switch, Konami has just revealed.
The game previously launched on Stadia, and it looks like Nintendo’s console will be getting the same experience. Although it can be played for free, Konami will be offering a $10 Premium Pack that includes 14 more characters inspired by classics like Silent Hill and Castlevania. Cross-play will be supported across various platforms.

As Bomberman returns with the gameplay that has made the franchise a party game classic—blast through battlefields, find hidden power-ups and use them to blow away foes, the action in Super Bomberman R Online erupts to new-heights with the “Battle 64” mode. Delivering the ultimate battle royale experience, up to 64 players are spread across 16 starting battlefields. As levels are cleared and players are whittled down, the number of battlefields continue to shrink until the ultimate final battle to be the last bomber standing.
Super Bomberman R Online brings more than 100 customizable feature combinations, including numerous costumes, accessories and for the first time, bomb skins – affecting both the bomb and the blast itself. Players can further discern themselves from the rest with the optional Premium Pack (SRP $9.99 USD), giving access to 14 additional bomber characters that pay homage to classic Konami IPs such as Gradius, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and more!
While anyone in the world can jump into a “Battle 64” room, the Premium Pack allows players to create their own private Room Match with rulesets that include “Battle 64” mode, “Standard” mode with up to 16 players or “Grand Prix”. Grand Prix divides players into two teams of up three-versus-three to compete in earning points with the highest point total after the two battle rounds wins.
Super Bomberman R Online will be offered as a free-to-play game via the eShop.
